The House

NOIR & BLADE began in 2014 as one chair, one blade, and a conviction: that the barbershop — done properly — is the last honest luxury a man can afford weekly.

Twelve years later there are two rooms and four barbers, but the arithmetic hasn't changed. Steel, steam, attention. Everything else is furniture.

Philosophy

Straight razor being drawn across a leather strop

Craftsmanship

Sharpened by hand, every morning.

Every razor in the house is stropped before open. Every barber trains for a year on the fundamentals before touching a paying head. Every cut ends with the same three checks — profile, crown, neckline — because craft is just care with a routine.

The Years

  1. 2014

    One chair on Foundry Row

Marcus Cole opens a single-chair shop behind an unmarked door. The waiting list outgrows the room within a year.

  2. 2017

    The Atelier District shop

Four chairs, a proper hot towel station, and the first apprentice. The rituals are written down for the first time.

  3. 2021

    Harbor House opens

A second room by the water — lower light, longer appointments, and the Full Noir package born of it.

  4. 2026

    The standard holds

Two locations, four barbers, twenty-five thousand appointments. The blade is still sharpened by hand every morning.

The Code

Precision before pace

We book fewer appointments per day than the room could hold. A rushed fade is a ruined one.

Ritual is respect

The hot towel, the neck shave, the final mirror — none of it is optional. Ceremony is how you tell a client he matters.

Quiet is a service

Conversation if you want it, silence if you don't. The chair is yours, including the terms.

The blade is honest

No filters, no flattery. We cut what suits your head, not what trended last month.

From the Team

“Four of us, two rooms, one promise: when you leave this chair, the mirror will be on your side.”
